About
CFHILL participates at Market Art Fair for the first time with a solo exhibition by Charlotte Gyllenhammar.
Market Art Fair, May 12–14. This year marks 30 years since Charlotte Gyllenhammar presented the monumental sculpture Die for you, a 120-year-old oak hanging over Drottninggatan at Sergels torg. It remains the most memorable and powerful piece of public art of the 1990s. Its themes – time, memory and impermanence – are still as relevant today as in 1993, a turbulent time of economic crisis.
Gyllenhammar studied at the Royal College of Art in London and the Royal Academy of Arts in Stockholm. Her public works include the memorial for Raoul Wallenberg in Gothenburg, the sculpture Meteorite in Lund, the works &child and Mother in Malmö, and the monument to Dag Hammarskjöld in Uppsala.
