About
Before Brazil had a name, art was already alive–in the rhythms of nature, in painted bodies, and sacred carvings. Over centuries, it transformed alongside the nation: from golden church altars to bold modern forms, from silent resistance to vibrant celebration. Brazilian art tells a story of identity, struggle, and freedom–bursting with color, sound, and soul. This is a journey not just to be seen, but to be felt.
Carnival reflects on Brazilian art and life from afar–like a bird soaring over a vast horizon.Although the geographical and cultural divide, we are honored to present a remarkable group of Brazilian artists whose expressive works offer insights into identity, faith, history, and politics.
Though removed from Brazil’s tropical warmth and vibrant pulse, the exhibition evokes a sense of connection and longing. Each piece resonates with echoes of Brazil’s past and its bold drive toward the future. The energy, movement, and rhythm of Brazilian culture are captured through bold colors, shifting patterns, and dynamic compositions.
Many of these works reflect Brazil’s rich cultural fusion–Indigenous, African, and Portuguese influences merging into a celebratory visual language. Baroque elements, carnival motifs, and references to faith, identity and social progress form a unique Brazilian aesthetic. In this dialogue between tradition and contemporary vision, we see the essence of Brazil: constant motion, reinvention, and resilience.
Featuring artists Elian Almeida, Cristina Canale, Bruno Dunley, Maria Klabin, Artur Lescher, Vik Muniz, Tomie Ohtake, Alberto Pitta, and Sérgio Sister, the exhibition showcases a free-flowing, organic approach to artistic expression. Their works radiate spontaneity, dynamism, and vitality–transforming nature and cultural diversity into bold, vibrant forms.
We’re delighted to have you with us on this journey–one that celebrates life, nature, and the universal values that connect us all.
